Þorvaldur Davíð Kristjánsson is the first deputy city councilor for the Liberal Reform Party in Reykjavík. He serves as deputy chair of the School and Recreation Council, deputy chair of the Culture Council, and representative on the Welfare Council. During the current term, he has also served as chair of the Human Rights Council.

Þorvaldur was born in Reykjavík in 1983. He earned a BFA in drama from The Juilliard School in New York in 2011 and has been pursuing an Executive MBA at the University of Oxford since 2019. Additionally, he is an alumnus of Balliol College, University of Oxford.

Career

His professional background spans administration, arts and culture, education, and international cooperation. At the Council of the Baltic Sea States in Stockholm, he served first as a counselor and later as director of the cooperation and communications department. In that role, he managed initiatives in regional cooperation, culture, and education, while also representing the council on the Baltic Sea Cultural Heritage Committee.

Þorvaldur has also worked in the arts and creative industries—both in Iceland and abroad—as an actor, producer, and author. He has published children's books, contributed to television productions, and earned international recognition for his work.
